Summacumfemmer: We would like to ask (if) … ? (Meeting with Ordinariness Lecture Series)

'We would like to ask (if) … ?' marks the moment when ideas leave the protected space of spinning around and meet reality: suddenly others are included. Some ideas do not even survive that first question. Or will change. And get better due to unexpected replies. We like to ask (and like being asked) questions, that raise even more questions because they might sound (and be) stupid, dubious, impossible, unpredictable. Nevertheless: 'Are you serious?' is a pretty good foundation to team up and start doing architecture, we think.

SUMMACUMFEMMER is an architectural practice founded by Anne Femmer and Florian Summa in Leipzig in 2015. The office likes to commute between worlds, often in collaboration with others: dirty hands on construction sites, shaky hands on the cost calculator, tense hands when drawing. The joy of being a plumber, sculpturer and mediator at the same time is also what characterises the teaching of Anne and Florian, currently at the Berlin University of the Arts. Both are co-curators of the German Pavilion at the 18th Architecture Biennale (2023) in Venice. https://www.summacumfemmer.com

The project is realized with the financial support of the State Fund of Culture Czech Republic.
