What is the current state of homelessness and homeless care in Prague? How has the situation evolved and where is it moving now? And where to find inspiration? What is the mission of the organizations such as Naděje (Hope) and Místní Místním (Local to Local)? We will discuss these and other questions with Ester Pacltová (Local to Local) and Ales Strnad (Hope).

Ester Pacltová is the co-founder of the NGO Local to Local and its director since the beginning. She has experience in working with homeless people from various NGOs, worked at the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and worked abroad on migration issues. In 2023 she published the book Bez Předsudků (Without Prejudice).

Aleš Strnad has been working on the issue of homelessness since 2000. He works in the Prague branch of the organization Naděje. He is co-author of the book Bezdomovectví v kontextu ambulantních sociálních služeb. He perceives educational and lecture activities on homelessness as useful, important and necessary.

The discussion is part of the accompanying program of the exhibition Whose Problem Is It? Homelessness between Prague and New York. The discussion will be in Czech.
