Excursion to Amazon PRG2 Dobrovíz

How does one of the so-called fulfillment centers (FC) of the global digital platform Amazon work in the neighbourhood of a small municipality Dobrovíz near Prague? What does a logistics warehouse look like from inside? Join the exhibition curators at the excursion into one of the largest and most controversial logistics centres in the Czech Republic.

Amazon PRG2 is a part of a cross-continental network of distribution centers of the company that serves the needs of the whole Europe. The largest logistics building in the Czech Republic was opened in 2015. The implementation of the distribution centre on the area of 133,000 square meters, originally planned to be located near Brno, was preceded by protests of local residents and related media response. Today, four years later, Amazon employs several thousand people in the vast hall with shelves and packing lines, most of them in the position of warehouse keepers. People from all over the country migrate here to carry out these low-skilled jobs.
